History of North Perth Rotary Club

The formation of a Rotary Club of North Perth was entrusted to the Rotary Club of Mount Lawley in December 1971 by District Governor Jack Sweeney. With the first meeting held at the Knutsford Arms Hotel, North Perth on Monday 27th March 1972. 

Since 1971, we have had many enthusiastic members that have contributed to many projects at the local, national and international levels. Some of which include, the Hyde Park Festival, Life Education WA, Moort Care, Starting Over Support (SOS) and Shelterbox.

Hyde Park Festival

The Rotary Club of North Perth has brought the Hyde Park Festival to Perth for 36 years, making it the longest running free community event in Perth.

The long weekend festival is one of the major fundraisers for the Rotary Club of North Perth and has raised over $1 million and made a difference to so many lives.

The Festival is back again next year on Sunday 2nd March 2025 (10am to 8pm) and Monday 3rd March 2025 (10am to 5pm). Find out more about Hyde Park Festival here.

District Club of the Year 2019-2020

After the Digital Rotary 9455 District Changeover in June 2020, the District Governor Graham Peden presented the Rotary Club of the Year Award to President Geoff Cornell with Assistant Governors, Jane O’Leary and Bruno Fic. Out of 46 clubs in our District, North Perth was voted the best performing club.
